In Ludhiana in 1952 there were 4, Minerva, Raiky, Naulakha, Deepak.

When I went there in 1957, there were two more, Society and Kailash. Both were called New Cinemas!

In 1957, my father was involved in the building of another new cinema Laxmi. After running from city to city for his livelihood, since being uprooted from Lahore in 1947, this is where he met the owner of a bicycle spare parts factory and he finally became the accountant of his factory. Now You Know!

From the book Film Industry in India 1913-1963 by BK Adarsh.

Unfortunately the beginning and end dates are not given, only the number of weeks and earnings.

I was in the last year of the Higher Secondary school and saw only

Anari (twice), Jali Note (twice), Zabak (twice), Kala Bazar (twice), Dil Deke Dekho (twice), Milan (once), Samrat Chandragupt (once with my father).

Notice one Pakistani film, I do not remember it being in Ludhiana at all.
