Compiler of the Hindi Film Geet Kosh wrote thus:

"A great personal loss for me !  He was in touch with me from early nineties.  He was kind enough to help me in my venture all the time.  He helped me by going out of way to obtain perfection in publishing revised edition of Hindi Film Geet Kosh, Vol.III (1951-60) in late 1996 and early 1997.  He graced its release function also which was held in Mumbai on 5th April 1997.  He vividly remembered all those memorable moments of the function.  He called on me last on 19th August 2023 in early hours and stated that it has now become difficult for him even to speak !  From August 2021, he was undergoing chemotherapy but since his treatment started late, no alternative was left; attending doctors and his physician had advised him to wind up now as no hope of survival was left due 3rd stage of cancer.  He visited at my place (Kanpur, India), consequtively in 1996, 1997 and 1998 and spent some days with me.  He was a noble soul.  May his soul now rest in peace."
