I went to US in 1969, did not hear of the term Bollywood, returned in 1975, the term was everywhere! There are many claims but nobody knows for sure who started it. But the sister term Tollywood (for Calcutta studios) has been in print since March 1932!

Parody song is a comic song that has the same or very similar tune of a popular song but the words are changed. The earliest one I have heard is 'gaao gaao ai mere saadhoo' from MIss Frontier Mail (1936)
