Many people have told me over the years that although Shankar-Jaikishan signed their name jointly, they actually worked on different songs. Some people say, they never worked together on even one song, others say they composed all songs together, others have a position in between the two extremes.

Here from the book by Vishwas Nerurkar, Manna Dey writes,

"The first song recorded for Shree 420 was 'Dil Ka Hal Sune Dilwala'. Shailendra wrote it and the tune was made by Shankar"

Are there other examples where such a clear statement has been made by anybody actually involved with the work. I mean actually involved, not some other person like Raju or Rajiv.
