India Theaters 1952

In Ludhiana in 1952 there were 4, Minerva, Raiky, Naulakha, Deepak.

When I went there in 1957, there were two more, Society and Kailash. Both were called New Cinemas!

In 1957, my father was involved in the building of another new cinema Laxmi. After running from city to city for his livelihood, since being uprooted from Lahore in 1947, this is where he met the owner of a bicycle spare parts factory and he finally became the accountant of his factory. Full story has been told here

Here in a scene from Aas (1953), we see Chandabai but the caption says Shardabai. This complicates things. So, if I see Shardabai listed, is it always Chandabai? Unless the film or another source is available, we are stuck.

Look at the man on the bottom right.

I was first saw him in the book, 500 Heroes and Heroines of Bollywood, by Shahab Ahmed. He labeled him as D Billimoria.
Considering the fact that he has labeled Paromita Vohra's Nani as Durga Khote, I do not have much confidence.

Next time I saw his photo when Venkata Raman G posted it on Facebook, calling him Khemchand Prakash!
On enquiry, he kindly led me to the website

CINESTAAN

It is a reasonably good site, but now I am confused.

Somebody please help me identify this unknown person.
