He is known as the grand daddy of all the compilers. He started it all. But his books are in English, how can he tell you how to say Madan in Hindi, you ask? Well, it turns out he had a translation made of at least one book. He supervised it, he wrote the introduction, so it is authorized by him. By golly! In that book, in Hindi it is

maadan = मादन

As far as I am concerned, case closed. I will not try to persuade any one, but here is Firoze Rangoonwalla telling you how to say it :)
