You may have heard/read that Govinda's last name is Ahuja. You may have also heard/read that his dad was Aroon Kumar Ahuja, who played the role of the husband who abandoned his wife in the first version of Mother India, viz. Aurat (1940). Some of you may have also heard/read that he was actually a Sikh named Gulshan Singh Ahuja! Here is a note about him from 1942.

In spite of all the evidence I am presenting that the silent and early film makers already did lots of stuff, some people may remain non-believers. Well, here are the two opening pages of an actual shooting script for an actual silent film Gul-e-Nakawali (Kohinoor, 1924). The whole script is about 160 hand-written pages.
