When I bought the second volume (1941-1950) of the HFGK in late 80s, I browsed through it eagerly. I was intrigued by the film Meena in 1944 where the cast mentioned Vasanti, Hansa and an actor named Anand. I suspected it might be Dev Anand. I kept wondering about it. Later on I mentioned this to (late) Gurcharan Singh Sandhu. He said he had asked Dev Anand when he visited the UK and he told him that it was not him and he also did not know who it was. Har Mandir Singh 'Hamraaz' and I also discussed it a few times.
Recently the topic came up again and 'Hamraaz' sent me a page from Sanjeev Tanwar's book for the year 1944. It clearly mentioned the full name of the actor!
