I learned recently that Dr Jyoti Prakash Guha of Calcutta passed away on December 9th 2025. He was 70 years old.
He was a very generous and knowledgeable person. He helped Hamraaz with so many things in the first volume of his Hindi Film Geet Kosh (1931-1940). Much of the information about movies made in Calcutta in the first edition was either incomplete or wrong. He helped us to correct it and fill the gaps. He also helped me a lot with anything I ever needed. He sent me a wonderful audio CD set of Saigal's songs and many other cassettes and audio CDs. He also sent me many rare Bengali movies.
He will be sorely missed.
