Updating the Geet Kosh data and the database is a never-ending process; Hamraaz and I will probably be doing it for the rest of our lives. For example just recently I found out about the elder sister of Chitra!
However, there are a few constants. The number of Hindi/Urdu feature films produced will probably not change, it will remain 1,160 during the 50s and 959 during the 60s. The number of songs will probably increase, because there are many blanks in the Geet Kosh, right now the totals are 9,289 and 6,433 in the 50s and 60s, respectively, with a grand total of 15,722.
For the record, we watched 447 films from the 50s and 665 from the 60s, with the number of video songs watched standing at 3,494 from the 50s and 4,334 from the 60s.
So in all, we had 1,112 films and 7,828 video songs available. Hopefully this will increase.
