Anybody who has read even one decent book on Indian film history knows that in the talkie era, the first song-less film was Wadia Movietone's Naujavan (1937). People felt cheated by the absence of songs and dances and according to some reports, people broke the furniture in a Bombay cinema hall.

Poor Sampada was hired as a copy editor and probably never read a book on Indian films, and is probably being asked to write articles on films. My sympathies. Should have asked ChatGPT to write it :)
