Censor Certificate Information

Notes:

1.  BW = Black and White.

2. Dates are in the Indian style, date, month, year.

3. Earlier the length used to be reported in Feet, then changed to Meters.

4. Time is obtained by the usual rule that for 35mm film, the frame rate is 24 fps and there are 16 frames per foot. We divide feet by 90 to get minutes.

5. A standard 35mm film reel is 1,000 feet.

Notes:

1. Blank means that no reliable information with us.
2. For Music Directors and Lyricists, a hyphen separation means joint work eg Sapan-Jagamohan.
3. And, a comma means that they signed their worked separately.
4. Confusion about the same names has not been completely removed.
5. In the Other Music Credits tab, if nothing is mentioned, Assistant Music Director is implied.
6. For other credits such as Associate, Conductor etc., the role is mentioned.
7. For the Music Company, GCIL = Gramophone Company of India Ltd, HMV = His Master's Voice
8. Censor year is mentioned, rest of the information is in Censor Information section.
9. The Additional Cast information is mainly about Junior Artists and Group Dancer

(Information for 47,129 songs from 6,361 films, browse or search, 1931-1985)

1.  Blank means we do not have the information.
2.  Preference is given to information from the film, if available.
3.  Otherwise, information from 78 rpm, EP, LP records, cassettes and other media is used.
4.  Any differences between the two are noted in the Remarks.
5. Names of actors on screen were obtained by watching available films.
6. The picturization information for the remaining songs has come from hundreds of film booklets collected and saved by Har Mandir Singh 'Hamraaz' for more than 40 years.
7.  Main singers are listed separately from the others.
8.  On Screen Other are mainly actors who are sitting or are group dancers.
9.  If the same voice is used by many people, there names are indicated thus (A, B).
10.  We have tried to match the voices with faces on screen in the same order.
11.  People who could not be recognized are indicated thus ---.
