I watched this movie long ago. Recently I bought a Busby Berkeley DVD collection and I watched it again today.

I was surprised to see Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi show up at the end of a dance number!

I assume everybody knows that he also shows up in the song, You Are The Top, by by Cole Porter and John McGlinn,

You're Mahatma Gandhi
You're the top
You're Napoleon Brandy

I guess American lyricists knew about him in the 30s.
