Since 1999

Since the establishment of the Censor Boards in 1920, any film to be shown in public had to be examined by the Board, passed and given a censor certificate, which was required to be displayed in the beginning of the show. The decision of the Board was published in the Govt Gazette. We have access to the Gazette pages from Bombay from 1920 to about 2000. All the information from these pages is being entered into computer files, being checked and will be made available on the website free of charge and free of ads, without any watermarks, just like the material on my website. Here is sample page showing the certification of the first talkie.
